NELAX and COVID

The NELAX suggests all non-active participants, coaches, and spectators wear face coverings.   Physical distancing should be practiced when possible.  However the rules of the facility will override the face covering rules.

Participants, coaches, officials or spectators:

Participants, coaches, officials or spectators that feel sick or have been directly exposed to someone with a confirmed positive COVID-19 diagnosis in the last 14 days, should not attend or participate in practice or competition.

Players who have a confirmed positive COVID-19 diagnosis:

If a player has a confirmed positive COVID-19 diagnosis in the last 14 days from a positive test, should not attend or participate in practice or competition for 10 days.

Teammates:

If any other player, rode in the same vehicle or hung out without a mask for longer than 15 minutes then they need to self-quarantine for 14 days and not attend a game or practice.

If any player was on the sidelines without a mask and close contact (see below) with the confirmed positive COVID-19 player for longer than 15 minutes, then they need to self-quarantine for 14 days and not attend a game or practice.

Opposing Team:

The opposing team of a confirmed positive COVID-19 player, will need to self-monitor for symptoms for the next 10 days.

What you need to know:

  • Stay home if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or are waiting on test results, are showing COVID-19 symptoms or have had a close contact with a person who has tested positive for or who has symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Bring your own equipment, like gloves, head gear, helmets, water bottles, and bats, if possible, to limit shared equipment.
  • Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) from other players when possible.
  • Wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth to help protect yourself and others.
  • Clean or sanitize your hands before and after practices, games, and sharing equipment.
  • Tell a coach if you don’t feel well.

Close Contact: Someone who has been within 6 feet of an infected person (laboratory-confirmed or a clinically compatible illness) for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period (for example, three individual 5-minute exposures for a total of 15 minutes in one day). An infected person can spread SARS-CoV-2 starting from 2 days before they have any symptoms (or, for asymptomatic patients, 2 days before the positive specimen collection date), until they meet criteria for discontinuing home isolation.
